Stoke Heath museum providing family entertainment on May Day holiday

A BROMSGROVE open air museum is providing a range of entertainment for the family to enjoy this May Day bank holiday.

Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings, in Redditch Road, Stoke Heath, will be alive with a host of traditional craftsmen including weavers, rope makers, spinners and bee keepers during the holiday, on May 7.

There will be a display of crafts including patch-working, music and traditional dancing, and a blacksmith working in the museum’s forge.

One of the highlights will be the traditional May Pole Dance, which visitors can join in with if they wish.

Families can participate in some willow weaving, and face painting, while there will be a special floral trail to follow around the museum, and guided tours for visitors.

There is a small charge for the children’s workshops.

To pre-book on one of the tours call the museum on 01527 831363.
