Rallying call to residents to come and take part in Bromsgrove’s Big Draw

RESIDENTS will get to show off their arty sides when the Big Draw comes to Bromsgrove next Saturday (October 31).

The event, from 10am to 2.30pm at the Methodist Centre, Stratford Road, will enable people to unleash their imaginations by drawing, doodling, or colouring to their heart’s content.

People of all ages and abilities can join the world’s biggest drawing festival, aimed at building confidence and enabling them to learn new drawing skills from one another in a relaxing environment.

Bromsgrove’s Big Draw is a voluntary project, with support from local organisations including Bromsgrove Festival, Arts Alive, Charles Lovell and Co, Bromsgrove Library, Charles Howell, What!, Robert Oulsnam, Morrisons, Santander, Artyfacts, ASDA and Bromsgrove Methodist Centre.

Laura Brodrick, Bromsgrove’s Big Draw co-ordinator, said: “We’re really excited to see what the Bromsgrove community can bring to this hands-on experience, with different generations, abilities and interests taking part to create something that tells individual and collective stories.”

She added she would love th hear from anyone who could donate art materials and from any illustrators, tattooists, cartoonists or designers who could share their skills on the day.

“We’d also be very glad of a photographer.”

People will be urged to indulge in their creativity and get involved in a range of activities including a large community drawing of life in Bromsgrove.

Art materials will be provided and refreshments will be available until 12.30pm.
