Plenty of summer fun for all ages at Bromsgrove's Avoncroft Museum, starting tomorrow

THERE will be plenty of family fun at Bromsgrove’s Avoncroft Museum throughout the six weeks summer holidays. From Monday, July 31, to next Friday, August 4, there will be traditional fun and games, including board games, kite flying, and other outdoor activities. The following week, Avoncroft’s Big Build will provide building themed activities. Youngsters will have the chance to design a new building for Avoncroft. From August 14 to 25, Avoncroft will be turned into the Land of Legends, with many fantasy themed activites, centering on folklore and local legends. Visitors will be tasked with searching the grounds for the mythical beasts that lie in wait for aspiring adventurers. From August 21 to 25, there will be the Great Avoncroft Bake-off. All junior cooks are invited to test their skills in the kitchen and cook something special. Visitors will also have the opportunity to help with historic household chores around the museum. The month ends with a bank holiday festival to celebrate the end of the summer with some traditional fun for the whole family. The last event of the season continues beyond August, running from August 29 to September 1. The Big Avoncroft Dig will see young archaeologists and budding historians help dig up important artifacts, and maybe even part of an ancient building?
