Crowds flock to latest street theatre event at Catshill Meadow

CROWDS flocked to the latest street theatre event held at Catshill Meadow on Monday, writes Kieran Kelly. Those watching were spellbound by the magic, comedy and stunts which took place. The show featured Jason Maverick and the Bread and Butter Theatre Company which impressed the audience with their skills and tricks. The series of free events have been organised by Bromsgrove District Council and have been taking place in Bromsgrove, Catshill, Romsley and Wythall. As well as the live entertainment there are also a host of stalls and other things to do, such as children’s craft activities. A council spokesperson said: “So far the street theatre has been very well received and we were impressed with the number of visitors that braved the rain to attend our relocated event last week.” The final two events will take place at the Bromsgrove Rec on Wednesday, August 9, where visitors can expect to see Bruce Airhead and The Maniax and the final one will be in St Chad’s Park, Rubery, on Thursday, August 10, which will feature Angie Mack and the returning John Maverick.
