Bromsgrove supermarket offers new space to organisations for free

THE BROMSGROVE branch of a town supermarket has opened a new space for organisations to use as a meeting place.

The town’s ASDA supermarket, in Market Street, is opening up its training room as a free community centre to not-for-profit organisations requiring a meeting space.

There is no cost to the organisation, and no requirement for anyone using the space to shop at the store.

Among the organisation that are eligible are schools, skills trainers, homework clubs, health clubs, neighbourhood watch schemes, teaching courses and community police events.

Store manager, Nigel Palmer, said: "We are opening up our training room because we realise having a space to sit down and meet is becoming increasingly harder for organisations.

“We'll be keeping an events calendar on our community life noticeboard so people are aware of the bigger events and those which are open to all."

ASDA require four weeks notice of a booking and evidence of public liability insurance, which most groups should have.

For more details, or to make a request to book the space, call Dawn on 01527 839500 extension 222, or email Community_Bromsgrove@asda.co.uk.
