Artrix celebrate International Women’s Day

ARTRIX Arts Centre are celebrating International Women’s Day early with a screening of the film Artwork by Take 13 artist, Anne GiddingsSuffragette and the opening of a new exhibition by local female artists.

From Thursday, March 3 to Sunday, March 27 between 10am and 4pm, Bromsgrove residents can enjoy the collective works of Take 13, a group of 13 contemporary women artists from the West Midlands, to celebrate women’s creativity and embrace the ethos of International Women’s Day on Tuesday, March 8.

Janet Glazier, who formed the group, said: “We’re delighted to be holding our third exhibition at Artrix. It’s a wonderful gallery and the staff at the venue have been very supportive of our wish to exhibit our work which is both contemporary and diverse.”

Suffragette, a story of the pioneering Suffragette movement and the fight to give women the vote in the 19th century, will be screened at 7.30pm on Thursday, March 3 at Artrix. Tickets cost £6.80 and can be purchased on the night.
