WORDS of Bromsgrove – Five Revolutions and Counting

Learning and Resources Centre, Bromsgrove School, ( Access via the Worcester Road Entrance and Car Park, ( B61 7HP ) – a buggy will be available )

As many of you will know, we had to cancel the scheduled visit by Stephen Page in March due to an overnight heavy fall of snow.

Over ninety people had bought tickets to come to hear Stephen’s talk, with its intriguing title of ” Five Revolutions and Counting – the Surprising Good News Story of what happened to Books in the 21st Century “, and so we are very pleased that we have managed to reschedule the Event on a new date – 7.30.p.m on Thursday, October 12th at the Learning and Resources Centre, Bromsgrove School, ( Access via the Worcester Road Entrance and Car Park, ( B61 7HP ) – a buggy will be available )

Stephen, who was born and raised in Bromsgrove, is the Executive Chair of Faber and Faber, one of the World’s leading Independent Publishing Houses, for which he was Chief Executive from 2001-2021.

His talk will be an eye witness account of what has happened to the Book Industry during the last twenty years and how it has thrived and confounded the expectations of its destruction in the face of digital transformation.

It is a story of rebellious leaders, visionary booksellers, bold publishers, and the power of writers in a period of dramatic societal change !!!

As all the previous tickets were refunded in March, tickets, at £12 each, for the new date will be available from Monday, September 11th, either via the Ticket Source Website – www.ticketsource.co.uk or by sending a cheque, payable to WORDS, to Sycamore House, Rigby Hall, Rigby Lane, Bromsgrove, B60 2EW, including a S.A.E. and your email address ( if you have one )
