- Bringing together four specially selected acts anxious to please our audience and our organisers with a view to gaining a future full spot at either the Club or The Festival. In no particular order…
Amie Bain – brings an enchanting blend of traditional songs collected from England, Wales and Ireland with folk harp (along with occasional appearance of whistle and shruti box) Amie’s singing draws inspiration from the likes of Kate Rusby, Eliza Carthy and Cara Dillon
The Clarkes and Co – a great four-piece band, with a contemporary folk flavour, seasoned lightly with a pinch of jazz and blues. Very cool!!!
Karen Killeen Jones – Karen Killeen-Jones is one half of folk duo KC Jones, who will playing at the club early in 2025 and tonight will be presenting her new solo EP, A Woman’s Work, on which she not only plays every instrument – guitar, piano, whistle, piano accordion, cajon, shruti box and percussion – but also sings all parts of some marvellous, often multi-part, harmony vocals and is the proud author of four of the six songs featured in this delightful package.
Julie Disney – Julia is of course no stranger to Bromsgrove Folk Club having performed with both Fairfield and Five Bar Gait and, currently fronts the excellent quartet, Catch the Rain. Tonight, however, we present her in solo mode which, going full circle, was how we first met her
