Orchestra of St John – Beethoven's Ninth

St John's Church, Bromsgrove B61 7JW

Orchestra of St John's journey through the symphonies of Beethoven culminates in the magnificent work that is the choral symphony, his ninth. Commissioned by the Philharmonic Society of London, this work with its groundbreaking addition of voices in the last movement is one of the great works of all time. Beethoven affirms his belief in freedom and joy through Schiller's famous words in the Ode to Joy. We are very pleased to take our second performance to the magnificent surroundings of Worcester Cathedral for the concert on May 5th.

For these two special concerts we are delighted to be joined by soloist, Charlotte Moseley, in the sublime and challenging violin concerto by Elgar, especially poignant here on his home turf in Worcestershire.
