As its second Event in The 2025 Bromsgrove Festival, WORDS welcomes Sir Laurie Bristow, who was the United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Afghanistan when the Taliban overthrew the government and took power in August 2021.
His book, “ Kabul: Final Call “, is a first hand account of the final days of the Republic and the evacuation of Kabul.
Sir Laurie was previously the United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Russia, and is now President of Hughes Hall, Cambridge University. He publishes and broadcasts regularly on geopolitics.
