'The Gunpowder Plot – A Midlands Rising' will remind us that most of the conspirators were from our region and that several local houses played an important role. Philip will look at what caused the Plot, how close it came to success and will consider its harmful long-term legacy. You will also learn about links with Macbeth, Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter and the Galapagos Islands.

The talk is followed by refreshments and a chance to socialise.
Tickets are £5 for adults, accompanied under 18s are free.
