January is one of those dreaded 5-week months at Bromsgrove Folk Club so our next extravaganza will be on 29th January when we welcome Farefeld to our Catshill Home www.bromsgrovefolkclub.co.uk
Farefeld have visited the club before and soon endeared themselves to our audience….they were a duo back then but tonight we welcome them as a four-piece complete with extra double-bass and melodeon. I can promise you a night of great music….and I quote “Both proudly from Staffordshire, Farefeld bring a mix of traditional and self-penned ballads about place, identity, old and new. Driving guitar and bouzouki accompany haunting whistles and harmonium along with intricate and warm vocal harmonies. Expect to hear songs written for and collected from all around the Midlands and beyond, accompanied by the heartfelt human stories that inspired them, their charming storytelling and warm Midlands humour”
As support for the night we welcome Tony Gillam who would have been one of our Showcase artists. Tony is a local singer-songwriter, acoustic guitarist and dulcimer player, specialising in original indie-folk songs and atmospheric instrumentals. He has played at Worcester Music Festival, the Three Choirs Festival and Worcester Theatre’s Culture Café and his music has been played on BBC Radio Hereford & Worcester and BBC Radio Shropshire.
It’s gonna be a good ‘un…in fact….What fun we shall have!!
