Bromsgrove Concerts present Craig Ogden (guitar)

Routh Hall, Bromsgrove School

We are delighted to welcome Craig Ogden back to Bromgrove once again. For us, he has put together a Memorial to Julian Bream, who did more than anyone else to establish the guitar as part of the British classical music world in the 20th century, and who died, aged 87, on 14th August 2020 – when the mind of the world was dominated by the covid pandemic. The concert consists of 4 works commissioned and premiered by Bream, interspersed by short works by Renaissance composers Dowland and Johnson whose ‘rediscovery’ owed much to Bream

Programme…

  • Dowland: Praeludium
  • Walton: Five Bagatelles
  • Robert Johnson: Almain
  • Lennox Berkeley: Sonatina Op 52 No 1
  • Dowland: Fantasie No 7
  • Richard Rodney Bennett: Five Impromptus
  • Dowland: Lachrymae Pavane
  • Britten: Nocturnal Op 70

NOTE : This concert is both Live and Streamed
