Avoncroft Museum of Buildings – Victorian Weekend

A VICTORIAN-themed weekend is being held at a Bromsgrove open air museum this August.

Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings, in Redditch Road, Stoke Heath, is giving residents the opportunity to step back in time and experience all the fun of a Victorian Fair.

The fair includes a number of traditional attractions including a Punch and Judy show, swing boats, coconut shys and a test-your-strength hammer.

Colourful characters from the era will be brought to life, while the family can also take part in a traditional school lesson.

Visitors will be able to make corn dollies, watch craftspeople such as lace-makers and blacksmiths at work, and sample Victorian-themed refreshments including traditional sweets or honey from the museum’s own beehives.

The event is being held over the August Bank Holiday weekend, between Sunday, August 25, and Monday, August 26.

The museum will be open between 10.30am-5pm, and entry costs £7.70 for adults, £6.60 for seniors and £4 for children.

A family ticket for two adults and three children costs £19.80. Members go free.
