Set against the backdrop of the American Great Depression, John Steinbeck's powerful and gripping masterpiece tells the story of two outsiders in search of the American Dream.

“Guys like us that work on the ranches, are the loneliest guys in the world. They got no family. They don’t belong no place.”

George and his simple-minded friend Lennie have nothing in the world except the clothes on their backs and a dream that one day they will have some land of their own. A place to call home. Armed with nothing but hope, they hatch a plan to leave their life of poverty behind and make a fresh start.“A guy needs somebody – to be near him. Don't make no difference who the guy is, long's he's with you”

The two men find work on a ranch and life looks good. But their arrival triggers a tragic chain of events. George and Lennie must protect each other from the cruelty and injustice that threatens to shatter their dream.
