Kristina Olsen is one of the most entertaining and compelling performers on the international acoustic circuit. A superb multi-instrumentalist (acoustic guitar, steel-body slide guitar, saxophone, concertina, banjo, mandolin and piano) as well as an award-winning songwriter with a big bluesy voice, Kristina has audiences around the world coming back for more. Her mix of powerful songs ranging from sassy bottleneck blues to lilting ballads to swing jazz to raunch and roll (as well as her hilarious storytelling) makes for a diverse and satisfying musical experience, on stage, on disc and in book.

Born in San Francisco and raised in Haight-Ashbury during the 1960's, Kristina's approach to music and life was formed by that environment of vital cultural expression, social activism and diverse musical influences. She now calls Venice Beach, Los Angeles home but rarely sees it from touring ten months a year.

    Artist Statement

“I have always been fascinated by textiles, a media I have worked in over the years, alongside my mixed media painting. This fascination has guided me towards a more textural, abstract approach to my painting. I use various materials on the canvas, which are transformed by the paint applied to them, giving a richness and depth to the canvas surface, and to the painted image.”

A night of mirth and musical mayhem!!

Mad Jocks And Englishmen are now celebrating 40 years in the music business. Having started at an extremely early age they are still young, fresh, fit and willing to carry out public engagements at the drop of a Saga brochure, or even more quickly at the mention of money.

The band has an established national reputation, and provides a unique blend of music and amusement to suit all audiences.

Their roots are in folk music but this has developed over the years to encompass contemporary music, bluegrass, country and a generous helping of humour.

The Churchfitters is a folk band like no other. A bass guitar made out of a frying pan. Heart-wrenching vocals accompanied by a musical saw. Foot-stompingly fast fiddle mixed with infectious funk-rock bouzouki. And traditional tunes reinvigorated with mesmerising jazz sax.
The four virtuoso musicians from England and France strut their stuff on a stage that bristles with instruments - adding flute, banjo, dulcimer, tin whistle, guitar, ukulele, stand up dustbin bass and a sackful of percussion to their ensemble. And let’s not forget the unique ‘bing-bong’ machine made out of hack-saw blades.
Throw in some exquisite harmonies, a slew of startlingly original songs and a few jokes that create instant rapport and you’ve got a high energy show that always leaves audiences cheering. How do you adequately describe such a musically diverse, uplifting band? You leave it to Mike Harding, a self-confessed ‘huge, huge fan’. He calls them 'totally brilliant and beautiful'.
