Catshill Social Club, Meadow Road, Catshill, Bromsgrove B61 0JJ

The one woman tornado that is Lucy Ward comes back to Bromsgrove. We were one of the earliest clubs to take a chance on Lucy because we recognized the star quality of the then 19 year old. Since then she has taken the folk world by storm, been nominated for best original song at the BBC2 Folk Awards and won the Horizon Best Newcomer Award. Don't expect a quiet evening from one of the scene's soft voiced female performers. This girl will grab you by the throat and take you on an emotional roller coaster. Here recent performance at Moira Furnace Folk Festival had the audience on their feet baying for more. Pity the poor MC who had to tell them that there wasn't time. That unfortunate MC was me by the way and in minutes I became the most unpopular person at the Festival!
