Wendy is new to Bromsgrove but comes highly recommended, not least from our friends at The Red Lion, Kings Heath.

She is a lovely singer and a deft guitar player with a fine stage presence, who handles trad with subtlety and insight, while her original material covers a range of human experience, both historical and modern, some great stories, poignant moments, and all wrapped up in some very fine tunes.

She has a real bubbly personality that really pushes flamboyance into her set, but not enough to detract from the songs, which is important as many of her songs have important points to make on the human condition, including the misery we inflict on each other.

She will be well supported on the night by Fairfield in whatever line-up is available to them.

"It seems to me that Steve Tilston has never sought fame on anything but his own terms. He has been driven by his own enthusiasm for his chosen subject matter.  He writes beautiful words and melodies and when our generation of songwriters is assessed on our contribution to our time, Steve’s work will rank alongside much better known artists"  Ralph McTell

    AN INSPECTOR CALLS

The Birling family are toasting the engagement of their daughter, when the joyous occasion is suddenly and un, expectedly interrupted by the arrival of a stranger at the door. An Inspector has called to investigate the tragic death of a young woman. A suicide, or so it would seem…

As the mysterious Inspector Goole questions each member of this affluent family he discovers their links to this tragic young woman’s death.

Peeling away layer upon layer of deceit he exposes the lies that infect this seemingly respectable family and reveals the deeply entrenched hypocrisy at the heart of Edwardian society.

An Inspector Calls is J.B. Priestley’s most famous work. It has been produced on stage, radio, television and in film numerous times since it was first performed in the UK in 1946.
